On and off the soccer field, Eben is a tenacious self-starter with a heightened sense of connection to things greater than himself. He takes to heart the African Proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” A leader on the pitch and in the community, Eben volunteers to support youth soccer players from his home town all the way to Polokwane, South Africa.
Eben graduated with honors from Charleroi Area High School in January of 2022 to get a head start on his academic and athletic careers at Pitt. He majors in business and continues to excel in the classroom, earning Dean's List recognition during his freshman year.
A club-level competitor since age eight, Eben evolved as a dynamic scoring leader during his years of play in the ECNL, Super Y, and National Leagues. He led his Charleroi High School soccer team to multiple section titles and playoff appearances, earning two All-State selections, two WPIAL Leading Scorer titles, two Section 3AA Player of the Year awards, and all school scoring titles. In his historic senior campaign, Eben netted 70 goals, 13 assists, and 153 points. The 70 goals he scored during his senior year marked the third most in a season in Pennsylvania high school soccer history.
